According to the raw material used, it is possible to distinguish three types of biogas
production plants:

Agricultural raw materials: materials from energy plantations, wastes from
agriculture and post-harvesting residues, manure and residues from livestock farms.

Industrial wastes and by-products: wastes and residues from several sectors of
industry: food, milk production, sugar, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, biochemical, paper,
meat industries and others.

Municipal wastes: organic fraction from municipal wastes, wastes from gardening, hotel and restaurant residues and sewage sludge. Also the system of gaining biogas from municipal waste dumps.
