Welcome to the website of the EU project ProBioPol - a project promoting and supporting biogas polygeneration in Romania.

The combined production of electricity and heat from gas arising out of the fermentation of organic wastes is a clever and promising technology. Wastes are not wasted, but used to produce sustainable, economical and indigenous energy.

ProBioPol is a European project financed as a "Specific Support Action" under the Sixth Framework Research Programme. It is implemented by a consortium of German and Romanian partners which set out to explore the frame conditions for the technology, promote the technology, build up an expert network and accompany the development of two large scale pilot plants in Romania.
